Adventurous Homework

It comes as a nasty shock to children at primary school when their teachers start giving them work to do in the evenings or at weekends.

Unless a constructive relationship is established with homework it can feel as though it’s downhill all the way.

Children’s attitude to extra work can have a major bearing on their mental health throughout their school career. If they view homework as an unfair chore, they can only feel increasingly victimised as the quantity and required quality increase.

The Adventure Aunt can work with your child to shift their attitude to homework, helping them to view it with adventurous relish at best, and with equanimity at worst. Studying is in itself an adventure, and the pleasure and praise resulting from academic achievement can be addictive.
